For puppies, homemade puree foods, milk and water is ample until they get to be 8-12 weeks. Once they have been weaned, you can start feeding them regular food. Young pups have to be fed several times a day as they have a small stomach and quickly get hungry. Once the dog is more than 12-20 weeks, the feedings can be reduced to once a day. Dogs that exercise on a daily basis may need two servings a day.

Dog training is essential if you want a well-behaved dog. Most dogs learn fast and can learn the basics of good behavior in a few weeks. However, behavior training should be started early at age of 10-12 weeks. The initial training sessions should be like a game and not last more than 10-15 minutes. Never harm the pup during training and praise the dog for all god behavior. Dog training should be consistent, continuous and fun.
